v0.10.0

Latest
October 9, 2026

A ready-made Price Book to start from, two new reports for how fast customers pay and where your hours go, and a round of fixes so invoices, estimates and payment schedules add up. Support now has to ask before it looks at your business records, and if you use two-factor authentication, signing in asks for your code.

New
  • Start your Price Book from a ready-made catalog for your trade. The Price Book has a new Catalogs button, and an empty Price Book offers "Browse starter catalogs". There are eleven catalogs: Appliance Repair, Cleaning Services, Common Cross-Trade Items, Electrical, Handyman, HVAC, Landscaping and Lawn Care, Painting, Pest Control, Plumbing and Roofing. Pick the catalogs, tick the items you want, add a markup or type your own price for any item, then add them. Items you already have are marked so you do not get a second copy, and you can come back for more catalogs later. Items with no starter price are added at $0.00 for you to fill in. Starter prices are researched estimates, not quotes, so review them before they go on an estimate.
  • Save a one-off line to your Price Book. Lines you typed by hand on an estimate, invoice, change order or proposal now have a "Save to Price Book" button. It fills in the name, details, price and taxable setting from the line, and first checks for something similar you already have, including items you deleted. "Use this item" links the line to the existing item instead of making a second copy. If the item was deleted, the line is linked to it but it is not put back in your Price Book.
  • Suggestions from lines you keep retyping. A new Suggestions button in the Price Book lists one-off lines you have typed on at least three different estimates, invoices or change orders, with how many documents and the range of prices you charged. Add one at the price you used most, or mark it Not useful. Either way, it will not come back.
  • See how long customers take to pay. Reports has a new Days to Pay tab beside A/R Aging. It shows the average and median days from an invoice's issue date to the payment that paid it off, a month-by-month trend, and your ten slowest-paying customers, for the current month and the eleven before it. Deposit invoices are shown separately so they do not pull the average down.
  • See billable and non-billable hours by job and by person. The new Job Hours tab in Reports totals the time logged on jobs in the date range you pick, split into billable and non-billable, with a chart and table for each job and each team member. It shows hours only, not labor cost, and leaves out timers that are still running.
  • Support has to ask before looking at your business records. When WorkSnap support needs to look at your records, they send a request that shows their reason and, if it came from your ticket, a link to that ticket. An owner or admin can allow it for 2, 4, 8 or 24 hours, turn it down, or end it early from Settings > Security. While access is open, everyone on your team sees a banner, and you are emailed when it is requested, opened and ended (the "ended" email can arrive up to an hour late). In a genuine emergency, one WorkSnap administrator can request one hour of access and a second can approve it without waiting for your answer; you are emailed when it is opened.
Improved
  • Signing in asks for your 2FA code. If you have turned on two-factor authentication, you are asked for the 6-digit code from your authenticator app after your password. People who are already signed in are asked for it once after this update. If you lose your device, contact support to reset your 2FA.
  • Only the account owner can change payout settings. In the app, PayPal, Square, Stripe Connect, Venmo, Cash App, the check payee and affiliate payout details can now be changed only by the account owner. Admins and members who try see "Only the account owner can change payout settings". Venmo usernames and Cash App tags are checked when you save them, so spaces and slashes are refused.
  • "Create Invoice from Job" bills one estimate at a time. It bills one estimate, skips estimates that already have an invoice, and brings over that estimate's chosen option, fees and discount, plus the job's billable time at your Labor item's rate (or $0.00 if you have none, so check the line). Time is not marked as billed, so create the invoice once per job. When several accepted estimates are waiting, it asks you to convert each one from its own page.
  • Settings is easier to find. Phones now have a gear icon in the top bar that opens Settings, and the Menu on larger screens lists Settings by name. A menu taller than your window now scrolls instead of running off the screen.
  • Trial-ended and inactivity emails carry the WorkSnap logo and a support link. The "just reply to this email" line is replaced with an "Open a support ticket" link, because these emails are sent from a no-reply address. The link asks you to sign in first.
  • The team 2FA switch says what it does. Turning on "Require 2FA for all team members" saves your preference but does not make anyone use 2FA yet, so the badge now reads "Not enforced yet" and the confirmation reads "2FA preference saved".
Fixed
  • Converting an estimate to an invoice bills only the option your customer chose. Optional items they declined are left off, and the estimate's fees and discount come across. An estimate that already has an invoice cannot be converted a second time, and a Good/Better/Best estimate with no option chosen explains why it cannot be billed yet. Invoices you converted earlier are not changed, so check the ones made from Good/Better/Best estimates or from estimates with fees or a discount.
  • The app no longer lets you delete an invoice that has payments recorded. Deleting used to erase the invoice's payment records with it. Delete is now offered on drafts only. To withdraw a sent invoice, cancel it; if it has payments recorded, remove or refund them first.
  • Saving an invoice, estimate or proposal no longer overwrites a newer payment. Save used to write totals worked out from the page as it loaded, which could put a paid invoice's balance back. Totals are now recalculated from what is stored.
  • Adding, editing or removing a fee updates the total and balance due straight away. If the total cannot be updated when you add a fee, the new fee is taken back out and you see the error, so trying again cannot add it twice.
  • A change order added to an invoice respects the invoice's discount and percentage fees. The totals are recalculated afterwards.
  • Duplicates and copies keep their discount. Duplicating an invoice, estimate or proposal, or copying an invoice to an estimate, now carries the discount across and recalculates, so the totals add up at your current tax rate. Duplicated proposals also keep their sections and tiers.
  • The custom payment schedule dialog no longer closes when the server refuses it. Your entries stay in place, the reason is shown, and a 0% row cannot be applied. Saving a template with a bad row no longer wipes its existing milestones.
  • Job photo uploads tell you what actually happened. A photo that was not saved now gets an error, and the success message appears only for photos that were saved, or says how many of them were.
  • Password reset links open the reset form. The link in the reset email used to land on your dashboard instead of the form where you choose a new password. If you use 2FA, you enter your code first.
  • Automatic estimate follow-ups always include the link to the estimate. A follow-up whose link cannot be made is not sent.
  • Switches, checkboxes and header and footer links look right. Switches and checkboxes keep their intended size and are easier to see when off, and links in headers and footers line up with the text beside them.

v0.9.1

September 12, 2026

Reliability and clarity improvements across reports, payments, customer forms and PDFs, with a smoother phone experience and clearer signup and pricing.

Fixed
  • Reports load reliably and are easier to read. Charts now show the right status and amount labels, readable colours in light and dark mode, and tooltips that stay visible when you resize to a phone layout. Counts display as counts, and Tax Collected, Revenue and Profit have distinct labels.
  • Payment dates stay on the day you entered. Payment-date defaults and report periods follow your company's timezone. Saved payment dates display consistently in payment history, reports and PDFs.
  • Customer forms show you what needs attention. Missing required fields have visible messages and receive focus. The getting-started checklist also updates when you return after creating a customer or saving an invoice.
  • Cleaner invoice and receipt PDFs. Short notes and receipt footers no longer spill onto an otherwise empty page. Longer notes and payment references flow across pages without losing their details.
  • Customer portals work better on phones. Long contact details fit the screen, and cancelled invoices clearly say no payment is due. Starter's portal shows service agreements; Enhanced's full portal includes documents. Existing portal links follow the access included in your current plan.
Improved
  • Processing-fee estimates are clearly labelled. Reports distinguish estimated fees and net amounts from actual processor charges. Square fee information links to Square's current pricing.
  • A clearer way to start free and compare plans. Signup explains when you choose a paid plan. Pricing shows the monthly price, annual total and equivalent monthly cost together, so you can compare without a toggle.
  • Easier navigation and clearer wording. The public site's phone menu includes Sign in and the main pages. Job statuses use readable names, document editors say "From Price Book", and page headings have a more consistent structure.

v0.9.0

September 10, 2026

Cancelling an invoice becomes a real action instead of a status dropdown, the dashboard tiles start answering four different questions and link to the lists behind them, and the A/R Aging report works again. Signing up now requires a confirmed email address.

New
  • Cancel an invoice, and reinstate it. Cancelling is now its own action with an optional reason, found in an invoice's More Options menu and in the invoice list's long-press sheet. A cancelled invoice keeps its amounts and its history, stops chasing the customer for payment, and shows a plain "This invoice has been cancelled. No payment is due." on the customer's share link -- with no payment buttons and a CANCELLED stamp on the PDF. Reinstate puts it back the way it was. An invoice with money already recorded against it cannot be cancelled; refund or delete the payments first, and the message tells you how much is recorded.
  • A "Potential" figure on your dashboard. The fourth tile now shows what is still on the table: the value of estimates you have sent that are waiting on a customer's reply, and how many. It replaces "Sent", which counted invoices raised this month -- including ones already paid -- and told you nothing you could act on.
Improved
  • The dashboard tiles are clickable. Each one opens the list behind its number: Outstanding and Overdue open the matching invoice filters, Potential opens your sent estimates, and Paid opens the payments report. They work from the keyboard too, with a clear focus outline.
  • Outstanding now tells you how much of it is late. Outstanding and Overdue are not two separate pots -- Overdue is the part of Outstanding that has passed its due date, which is why they can show the same figure. The Outstanding tile now says so directly: "All of it is past due", "$1,240 of it is past due", or "3 invoices - none late".
  • New "Unpaid" and "Overdue" filters on your invoice list, reachable from the dashboard tiles or the filter chips. An empty filtered list now says what it found ("Nothing past due") instead of "No invoices yet".
  • Report sections can be linked to directly. Any report tab now has its own address, so you can bookmark A/R Aging or Pay Mix and land on it.
  • "New Snap" on your phone is now just "New". The button is unchanged -- it still opens New Invoice, New Estimate, New Job, New Customer and Record Payment. The name now says what it does. (Snap Proposals are unaffected.)
  • Record Payment no longer pre-picks "Other". It opens asking how you were paid, and waits for an answer, so payments stop quietly filing themselves under the vaguest option. The dialog also now says what it is for: money you have already received, not a charge to the customer.
  • Estimate templates stop calling themselves invoices. Starting an estimate from a template now offers "Start with Blank Estimate", and says up front that picking a template creates a draft you can edit before sending.
  • The Price Book is called the Price Book everywhere. The page heading said "Items" while the menu said "Price Book".
  • Job tabs keep their labels on a phone. Documents, Notes and Photos showed as bare icons on small screens with nothing to tell them apart.
Fixed
  • The A/R Aging report loads again. It had been asking the database for a report filtered by date range using a lookup that does not accept one, so the tab failed every time it was opened. It also no longer files invoices with no due date under "Over 90 Days" -- an invoice with no due date is not late -- and its Total Outstanding now matches the figure on your dashboard.
  • Marking an invoice as paid works for customers with no phone number. Paid invoices queue an SMS review request, which could never be delivered to a customer without a phone, and the failure blocked the whole action. Those customers are now skipped.
  • PayPal payments record. Choosing PayPal when recording a payment did nothing at all -- the database was rejecting the method. Payment failures of any kind now surface a message instead of leaving the dialog sitting there looking idle.
  • Overdue invoices are marked overdue in your invoice list. The list, its totals and the invoice PDF were all looking for a status the app never applied, so nothing ever appeared overdue outside the dashboard.
  • Customer statements no longer chase cancelled invoices. A cancelled invoice keeps its balance, and the statement was counting it as overdue.
  • Readable figures on the dashboard and invoice list. The coloured totals did not meet the AA contrast minimum against white -- the green and orange worst of all -- and have been darkened.
  • The Open Invoices and Open Estimates lists match the tiles above them. An invoice with a part-balance left after payment was counted in your Outstanding total but missing from the list, and a Snap Proposal could appear under Open Estimates but not on the page it linked to.
Security
  • A confirmed email address is now required. Signing up no longer hands out a working account and a running trial before the address has been shown to exist. Unconfirmed accounts are sent to a page that explains why and can resend the link; the trial starts once the address is confirmed.

v0.8.1

September 5, 2026

Reliability release. No new features. This one keeps service agreement billing running past the first invoice.

Fixed
  • Weekly and bi-weekly service agreements keep billing. An agreement billed weekly or bi-weekly created its first membership invoice and then silently stopped, because the billing schedule was saved without the day of the week to repeat on. Monthly, quarterly, and yearly agreements kept going but always landed on the 28th instead of the day the agreement was sold. New agreements now bill on the same weekday or day of the month they started, and agreements that were already stuck pick up again on the next nightly run with a single catch-up draft for you to review.

v0.8.0

September 4, 2026

Service agreements and discounts arrive, search reaches every record in the app, and the phone experience gets a thorough pass: a usable invoice editor, one quick-create menu, swipeable report tabs, and one-tap text and directions. Also fixes a bug that could leave emailed invoices showing blank line items.

New
  • Service Agreements. Sell recurring maintenance plans, such as a monthly tune-up plan with two visits a year and 10% off repairs. Define reusable plans under Service Agreements (in the Money menu and the More screen), sell one to a customer from their page or the agreements list, and the app tracks the visits included in each term, bills the plan through recurring invoices, and lets you pause, resume, or cancel it. Customers see their plan, how many visits remain in the current term, and when the term ends in the Customer Portal. (Available on Pro and Enterprise plans.)
  • Discounts on invoices and estimates. Add a percentage discount to any invoice or estimate; it comes off before tax. Customers on an active service agreement get their plan's discount applied automatically when you create their invoice or estimate. The discount line shows everywhere totals appear: the editors, previews, customer share pages, and PDFs. Fees are never discounted.
  • Search the whole app. Press Cmd/Ctrl+K, or tap the search icon in the header on your phone, to find customers, invoices, estimates, Snap Proposals, and jobs by name, number, or customer and jump straight to them.
  • Descriptions on line items. Each line item now has an optional description beneath the item name, so "Labor - 8 hours" can carry the details of the work performed underneath. Tap "Add description" on any line. Descriptions carry through to previews, customer share pages, PDFs, templates, and duplicated documents.
  • Send "On My Way" by text. The On My Way notice on a job can now go by text message as well as email, so phone-only customers are covered. The dialog shows which options that customer has and how many SMS credits you have left, and defaults to email when the customer has one, since email uses no credits.
  • One-tap text and directions. Customer pages have a Text button beside the phone number, and both customer addresses and job site addresses have a Directions button that opens your maps app.
Improved
  • One "New Snap" menu on your phone. The center button in the mobile navigation now opens a quick-create menu with New Invoice, New Estimate, New Job, New Customer, and Record Payment on every screen. The two separate floating buttons are gone.
  • Report tabs work on a phone. All twelve report tabs are now a swipeable row with icons on small screens, and arrow keys reach every tab for keyboard users.
  • Help Center is accurate about connectivity. WorkSnap Pro needs an internet connection. Help articles no longer describe offline access or push notifications, and now explain that alerts arrive by email.
Fixed
  • Line item edits are saved again. Editing a line item on an invoice could silently fail to save, so a customer opening an emailed invoice saw rows of "New line item" at $0.00 beneath correct totals. Every edit now reaches the database, and the editor warns you if a save fails. Editing one field also no longer resets other fields on the same line, and changing an invoice's status or a customer's details no longer clears notes or contact info. Invoices affected earlier need their line items re-entered, since the lost text was never stored.
  • The invoice editor works on a phone. Decimal points could not be typed in the Qty and Unit Price fields, and iOS zoomed the page when you tapped a field. Both are fixed, and typed amounts are read the way you meant them: "2,500" is two thousand five hundred and "12,5" is twelve and a half. Preview, Send, and Save or Payment now sit in a bar at the bottom of the screen instead of behind the overflow menu, and the item picker opens as a bottom sheet.
  • "Yearly" billing frequency saves. Setting a line item to bill yearly failed validation and never stuck. It saves now.
  • The Record Payment shortcut works. The Record Payment quick action used to just open the invoice list. It now shows the invoices with a balance due, and picking one opens it with the payment dialog ready.
  • Phone numbers with extensions dial the right number. Call and Text links no longer run an extension onto the end of the number.
  • Colored borders show their intended color. Error outlines, selected-card highlights, and other colored borders were rendering gray across the app.
  • Contrast and touch-target fixes across the mobile navigation, report tabs, invoice editor, and action sheets.
Security
  • Customer share pages load only what they show. Pages opened from an estimate, invoice, or change order share link now receive just your business's name, logo, address, and contact details. Previously the page data also carried internal account fields that were never displayed.

v0.7.0

July 22, 2026

Branded proposals get their own dedicated home, a customer portal link is now one tap away, and a batch of date and scheduling bugs are fixed.

New
  • Share a Customer Portal link. A customer's detail page now has a "Portal Link" button that copies a secure link, giving that customer one place to view all of their documents. (Available on eligible plans.)
Improved
  • "Snap Estimates" is now "Snap Proposals," with its own home in the app. The branded-proposal builder has been renamed and moved out of Estimates into its own dedicated section, reachable from the Money menu, the mobile More screen, and a customer's Quick Actions. Your existing proposals and everything in them are unchanged.
Fixed
  • Creating a new job works again. The "New Job" buttons on the dashboard, the mobile add button, and customer pages could land on an error page instead of the new-job form. Creating and opening a job now works from every entry point.
  • Job schedule times stay put. A job's scheduled start and end times no longer drift a few hours later each time you save it. The app now also warns you if the end time is set before the start time.
  • Dates show the correct day. Issue dates, due dates, "valid until" dates, and signature dates could appear a day early depending on your timezone. They now show the right calendar day everywhere - in lists, previews, the customer and portal views, PDFs, email reminders, and reports - and the due-date calculations behind them are corrected to match.
  • Line-item fields no longer clip on a phone. The Qty / Unit Price / Total row on invoices, estimates, proposals, and change orders was too cramped on small screens, cutting off the unit price and total. The row now stacks cleanly so every value is fully visible.
  • Adding a customer is smoother. Form errors are announced properly for screen-reader users, very long customer names no longer overflow their rows, and the "Add Customer" shortcuts across the app now actually open the dialog. A new indicator also shows how many of your customer slots are in use.

v0.6.1

July 6, 2026

Reliability release. No new features. This one hardens the automated jobs that generate recurring invoices and send payment reminders.

Fixed
  • Recurring invoices and payment reminders can no longer be double-generated by overlapping scheduled runs. If the same scheduled job were ever triggered twice at once, it was previously possible to generate a duplicate invoice from a recurring template, or to send the same payment-reminder email twice. A per-job, per-period concurrency guard now ensures that when two runs overlap, exactly one does the work and the other stands down, so each due invoice is generated once and each reminder is sent once. If a run fails partway, it safely releases its slot so the next run can pick up the remaining work. (Verified with a simulated concurrent double-run: without the guard two overlapping runs produced two invoices; with the guard they produce exactly one. Normal single runs are unaffected.)

v0.6.0

July 6, 2026
New
  • Send change orders by email. Change orders could previously only be shared with a customer via link. You can now send them straight to your customer's inbox, the same way estimates and invoices already work, complete with an email history log.
Fixed
  • Customers can approve estimates again. A database issue could cause an error when a customer tried to approve an estimate that had no Good/Better/Best tiers or optional items selected. Approvals now go through correctly for every estimate.
  • Typing in a change order's "Reason for Change" field works properly. Previously, only the first few characters you typed would stick. The field now saves reliably.

v0.5.1

June 10, 2026

Accuracy and reliability release. No new features. This one makes sure the numbers on your invoices and estimates are always right.

Fixed
  • Invoice totals now always include fees and tips. Previously, editing a line item on an invoice that had service fees or a customer tip could silently drop those amounts from the total. Totals, balances, and PDFs now stay consistent no matter when you edit.
  • Approving a tiered estimate records the right total. When a customer picked a Good/Better/Best option, the recorded approval total could include items from the other tiers. It now reflects exactly what they chose.
  • Duplicating an invoice or estimate copies everything. Duplicates now keep sections and pricing tiers, optional items, billing frequency, fees, and item costs. (Customer tips are intentionally not carried over to the new invoice.)
  • Optional add-on items keep their "optional" status when added to an estimate or when an estimate is duplicated.
  • Tips can no longer be changed on an invoice that's already paid, and tip updates are protected against conflicting with a payment that arrives at the same moment.
  • Inactivity warnings are now guaranteed. Your account will never be closed for inactivity without a warning email actually being sent first, and coming back to the app resets the countdown.
  • Tightened security across the admin area, sign-in checks, and system endpoints, and fixed a number of small interface bugs.

v0.5.0

May 21, 2026
New
  • Automatic trial expiry. Free trials now end on schedule, and you'll get an email when yours expires with a link to upgrade.
  • Inactive account cleanup. Free accounts that haven't been used for about two months receive a warning email, and are closed a week later if there's still no activity. Signing back in keeps your account active.

v0.4.0

March 9, 2026
New
  • Optional line items on estimates. Mark items as optional add-ons, and your customers can check or uncheck them on the shared estimate page, and the total updates live as they choose.
  • Item dependencies. Link items that belong together, so selecting an add-on automatically includes anything it requires.

v0.3.0

March 9, 2026
New
  • Send invoices by text message. Deliver invoices straight to your customer's phone, right where they'll see them.
  • Tipping. Customers can add a tip when viewing and paying an invoice.
  • QR codes on invoices. Unpaid invoice PDFs include a QR code your customer can scan to open the payment page instantly.
  • Client statements. Generate a statement summarizing a customer's invoices and payments over a period.

v0.2.0

March 9, 2026
New
  • Good-Better-Best pricing tiers. Present up to three pricing options on a single estimate. Your customer compares the tiers side by side and picks the one they want when approving.

v0.1.0

Initial release: phone-first invoicing and estimating. Create and send invoices and estimates, collect online payments, manage customers, items, and jobs.
